Fireplaces and wood burners in Godalming
Godalming is the far end of our Guildford round, about twenty five minutes from the showroom, and its steep streets hold some of the oldest houses we work in.
Timber framing, narrow flues, listed frontages and chimneys that have been altered three times in three centuries, Godalming keeps us honest. The right answer there is usually a conservatively sized stove on a properly lined flue, with the smoke test done before anyone talks about models. Where the house is listed we keep the works reversible and the original fabric untouched.
Alongside the old town there are plenty of Victorian terraces and newer homes around Farncombe and Busbridge where the jobs are simpler, gas fires, electric suites and standard liner and stove installations. Every one starts with a free survey, and every one is fitted and certificated by our own engineers.
