Gas Fire Servicing
A gas fire should be serviced every year, and summer is the sensible time to do it — before you want it in October, and while our diary is quieter. It keeps the fire safe, keeps it efficient, and catches small problems while there is still time to put them right — rather than the week the cold weather arrives and you need the fire most.

Inspections and checks
- Visual assessment — the outer casing, the surround and the general physical condition of the fire.
- Flue and ventilation — making sure waste combustion gases and carbon monoxide vent safely outside, and that airways are clear.
- Flame evaluation — checking the burner lights correctly, and that the flame colour and stability are as they should be.
Cleaning and maintenance
- Component cleaning — removing dust, soot and debris from the burner matrix, pilot assembly and injectors.
- Part placement — coals, pebbles or logs reset precisely to the manufacturer’s guidelines — which matters far more than most people realise.
- Lubrication — tending to mechanical moving parts where applicable.
Testing and sign-off
- Safety devices — testing the flame failure device and the safety shut-off systems.
- Service record — a written report handed to you on completion, for your records and your insurer.
Every service is carried out by our own Gas Safe registered engineers — never subcontracted.
Booking a service
We service gas fires on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, each day covering a different area so we can keep to local rounds. Give us a ring and we'll find you a date on a round near you.
